Slumber

Let me bank sleep,
cup the wisps of z's in my hand:
snooze, slumber, hibernate.

No mere dozing, or afternoon siesta, but a
deep, bone-setting, earth-filling, sea-diving slumber.
An oceanic nap of eonic proportions,
dusted with the glitter of geologic ages.

Let me lie dormant,
spread porous, prone, and unconscious,
blissfully unawake.
unknowing unfeeling unseeing unthinking

I fall to earth and know the scent of loam,
the press of clean sand.
